Oana Avasilichioaei is a poet, translator, and sound artist based in Montreal whose most recent hybrid collection of poetry, Eight Track (Talonbooks, 2019), was shortlisted for the QWF’s A. M. Klein Prize and the Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry. She has translated many books of poetry and prose from French and Romanian, including Bertrand Laverdure’s The Neptune Room (Book*hug 2020, shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Award) and Readopolis (Book*hug 2017, Governor General’s Literary Award for Translation), and Catherine Lalonde’s The Faerie Devouring (Book*hug 2018, QWF’s Cole Foundation Prize for Translation).
